The team Vini Zabù has achieved a good result at Giro del Veneto with the riders directed by Francesco Frassi on the spotlight at first with the breakaway of Simone Bevilacqua and then in the group of the favorites with Davide Orrico.
It was a special day today for Simone Bevilacqua, born in the province of Vicenza and very motivated as the first half of the race was on his home territory, who managed to be in the breakaway for the second time in three days.
The other riders in front with him were Davide Bais, Luka Pajek, Giacomo Garavaglia, Matteo Zurlo, Niccolò Salvietti, Marco Grendene and Matteo Baseggio with the peloton, pulled by Uae Team Emirates and Astana – Premiertech, that conceeded a maximum gap of 3’40”.
Inside the last lap of the circuit in Rovolon the situation changed with the escapees who were caught with 43 kms to go and a big selection in the peloton with only 30 riders left at 10 kms from the finish.
Among them there was also Davide Orrico that was able to end in 10th place at the sprint won by the belgian Xandro Meurisse, a good result in a territory where many of our sponsors are located.
Two races left before the end of the season, on friday Serenissima Gravel and on sunday Veneto Classic.
